From Mount Prospect, IL to the International Space Station, GAM is helping to improve the air quality for NASA Astronauts.
Gam’s EPL-H planetary gear reducer is being used for precision valve actuation on a carbon dioxide removal system on the International Space Station.
The EPL-H has a hollow output which was a perfect design feature for the system. This created the shortest overall length and further reduced mechanical interference with other instruments.
The EPL-H Series was designed specifically to address the difficulty of connecting gear reducers to linear products. The hollow output and zero backlash clamping ring create the quickest and most economical way to add gearing to essentially any linear belt or ball screw. Features include:
- Precision cut planetary gears
- Ratios up to 1000:1
- Frame sizes from 64 mm to 118 mm
- Same backlash and efficiencies as EPL Series
